Title: Machine Learning/ Azure Engineer
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Location: Can sit fully remote

Job Description:

This is a benefit management branch of Optum. Currently has 60 million members. This group focuses on consumer analytics. They are in a transformative period. They are outsourced to Wonderman. They are migrating this capability in-house and hosting this on Azure. The vision is to bring all Optum’s customer facing companies into one shared environment. This group looks at their consumers and creates models that will encompass their consumer base and then a deep dive into the analytics around these consumers. This could be for any specific need or group of the consumer base. This group has a marketing digital consumer skillset. The machine learning aspect is built by the scientists. This person will need to create an environment to monitor these models more closely and let the team know if it is drifting (tuning the model over time).

They have a few data scientists on the team. They only have 1 data engineer on the team and need to bring in another for added support. This person will help to develop out their azure machine learning environment. A current user case is that they are using a python package to drive attribution results for the campaign. This is falling into Azure. This is a databricks environment. They need to make sure that this user case works in all user cases. They need someone that can come in and help to stand up and configure their Azure environment and help to move data into this azure ecosystem.

Title: Cloud Engineer
Duration: 3 months
Location: Remote
Client: Amazon

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining cloud platform microservice code. Work in engineering scrum teams developing and enhancing product features as required by product management and technical stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Team: Technical team in ES Tech Organization
  • Look into delivering technical solutions for DLS (Disability Leave Services), Benefits
  • Anyone that needs leave of absence for bad health - will come to this tool and self-serve or call case management to assist
  • Adding a new channel - Employees will be able to send an email to open a case

Qualifications:

  • Full stack development experience
  • 3+ years of experience developing software in at least one of
  • Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, and/or Go
  • Experience with application monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, etc.)
  • Experience with MySQL or another relational DB
  • Experience with DynamoDB or another NoSQL DB
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
  • Experience with continuous integration, automated unit
  • Experience with Agile and various process implementations
  • Experience with Web architectures and services (HTTP, REST, sockets, JSON, multi-threading, etc.)
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services

    Nice to have:

  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate and other Java frameworks
  • Familiarity with AWS and have built apps leveraging its offerings (S3, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, EC2, Kinesis, Cloud Formations, etc.)
  • Experience with Docker
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in communicating with other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Experience developing complex software systems that have successfully been delivered to customers.

Job Description: IT Project Manager

The IT Project Manager supports projects of various sizes, complexity, and duration. Works with various teams to ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

Strategy & Planning

  • Define the scope of the projects in collaboration with senior project managers.
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project.
  • Prepare meeting materials, outlines, presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other project information.
  • Coordinate & schedule meetings, conference calls and events as needed.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
  • Conduct project closure activities to include final reporting, lessons learned, knowledge transfer, and project documentation.
  • Document risks issues; maintain, track, and monitor risk issues.
